Dosing Pump Timer, Automatic Passivation Timer

Dosing Pump Timer is an electronic automatic chemical dosing controller used for passivation plants, electroplating units, zinc plating lines, chrome plating processes, phosphating plants, surface-treatment systems and industrial chemical tanks. It controls passivation dipping time, buzzer timing, chemical dosing quantity in millilitres and the number of production cycles after which chemical dosing must be repeated.

UMA Industries manufactures and supplies dosing pump timers, automatic passivation timers, chemical dosing controllers, sensor-operated dosing systems and customized electronic control devices for Delhi NCR and industrial locations throughout India.

The Dosing Pump Timer can start automatically by sensing the operator’s hand, component, material bucket, jig or carrier using a suitable sensor. Once a valid object is detected, the controller executes the programmed sequence automatically. This helps standardize passivation time, chemical addition and repetitive dosing without depending on manual timing.

Four-Step Working of Dosing Pump Timer

1. Passivation Dipping Time

The first programmable step controls how long the component, jig, basket or material bucket remains in the passivation tank. Once the sensor detects the operator’s hand, material bucket or job carrier, the controller starts the programmed passivation dipping time.

This helps maintain uniform treatment time for every batch and reduces variation caused by manual timing.

2. Buzzer Activation and Auto-Off Time

At the end of the passivation time, the buzzer activates to inform the operator that the dipping cycle has been completed. The buzzer remains active for the programmed duration and then switches off automatically.

The buzzer indication helps the operator remove the job at the correct time and prevents over-treatment or delayed handling.

3. Chemical Dosing in Millilitres

The third step controls the quantity of chemical to be dosed at one time. The required quantity can be programmed in millilitres according to the dosing pump capacity, chemical concentration, bath volume and process consumption.

The relay output operates the dosing pump for the calculated duration so that the selected chemical quantity is added automatically.

4. Repeat Dosing Cycle Setting

The fourth step defines the number of passivation cycles after which dosing must be repeated. For example, if the repeat value is set to 10, the dosing pump operates after every tenth completed process cycle.

This feature is useful where chemical consumption is related to the number of jigs, baskets, components or production cycles.

How Dosing Pump Timer Works

  1. The operator brings a hand, component bucket, jig or material carrier near the sensing point.
  2. The sensor gives an input signal to the controller.
  3. The programmed passivation dipping timer starts.
  4. After the dipping time is completed, the buzzer activates.
  5. The buzzer automatically switches off after the programmed buzzer time.
  6. The controller counts the completed production cycle.
  7. When the programmed repeat-cycle count is reached, the relay operates the dosing pump.
  8. The dosing pump adds the selected chemical quantity in millilitres.
  9. The repeat-cycle counter restarts for the next dosing sequence.
