Difference Between pH Meter and pH Controller

A pH meter measures and displays the pH value. A pH controller measures pH and also gives output for control action. The control output may operate a dosing pump, alarm, relay, solenoid or machine interlock.

pH Controller with Dosing Pump

The RS 485 Modbus RTU pH Controller can operate a dosing pump through relay output. The dosing pump can dose acid or alkali depending on the selected control logic. This is commonly used in ETP neutralisation tanks, RO chemical dosing systems, process tanks and wastewater treatment systems.

Correct selection of dosing pump capacity, chemical strength, tank volume, mixing time and controller set point is important for stable pH control. For accurate operation, the pH sensor should be installed at a location where the liquid is properly mixed.

Installation Instructions

  5. Adjust the 4 pH or slope setting.
  6. Set the display to exactly 4.00 pH.

  2. Install the sensor in the process.
