How Digital pH Controller Online Works

The controller continuously measures the pH value using a pH electrode. The measured pH value is shown on the digital LED display. The user can set low pH and high pH limits according to the process requirement. When the measured pH crosses the selected limit, the related relay output activates and controls the connected equipment.

Low pH Set Point Control

The low pH set point is used when the process liquid becomes more acidic than the required value. Relay output can be connected to an alkali dosing pump, alarm or control interlock as per the application.

High pH Set Point Control

The high pH set point is used when the process liquid becomes more alkaline than the required value. Relay output can be connected to an acid dosing pump, alarm or process control system.

Set Point Adjustment Procedure

High pH Set Point

  1. Press the SET key once.
  2. The high pH set value will appear or blink on the display.
  3. Adjust the value using UP and DOWN keys.
  4. Press ENTER to save the value.

Low pH Set Point

  1. Press the SET key twice.
  2. The low pH set value will appear on the display.
  3. Adjust the value using UP and DOWN keys.
  4. Press ENTER to save the value.

With two set points, the controller can be used for acid dosing, alkali dosing, high/low pH alarm, neutralisation tank control and dosing pump automation.

Calibration Procedure for Digital pH Controller Online

Calibration with 7 pH Buffer Solution

  1. Rinse the pH electrode with clean water or DM water.
  2. Dip the electrode in standard 7 pH buffer solution.
  3. Wait until the reading becomes stable.
  4. Adjust the 7 pH calibration setting or screw slowly.
  5. Set the display value to 7.00 pH.

Calibration with 4 pH Buffer Solution

  1. Clean the electrode again with clean water or DM water.
  2. Dip the electrode in standard 4 pH buffer solution.
  3. Wait until the display reading becomes stable.
  4. Adjust the 4 pH calibration setting or screw slowly.
  5. Set the display value to 4.00 pH.

For best accuracy, use fresh buffer solution and keep the pH electrode clean. Do not rub the glass bulb harshly because it can damage the sensitive surface of the electrode.

  • Install the controller in a clean and dry electrical panel.
  • Use a suitable pH electrode according to process liquid and temperature.
  • Do not keep the pH electrode dry for a long time.
  • Clean the electrode regularly in dirty water, chemical solution or effluent.
